Arsenal raised their season ticket prices for this season and the Gunners are bumping up fees again despite Premier League rivals freezing theirs
Arsenal are putting their ticket prices up for next season - even though Premier League rivals are freezing theirs.
The Gunners will announce an inflationary price rise of around 3.7 per cent despite Liverpool, West Ham and Brentford announcing their seats will cost the same for the 2025/26 campaign.
The Football Supporters’ Association have even written to the Premier League to urge them to introduce a division-wide price freeze.
It comes as part of their “Stop Exploiting Loyalty” campaign while there have been protests at Tottenham and Manchester City while Manchester United faced a major backlash after announcing they have removed concessionary prices.
Arsenal already have some of the most expensive tickets in English football in their 60,000 Emirates Stadium.
Crystal Palace were the only club not to rise ticket prices for the 2024/25 season as all 20 top flight clubs faced a huge rise in operating costs.
But despite a rise in costs and inflation, clubs have been under huge pressure not to put it onto ticket prices because of record TV deals, seats are already expensive and the cost of living crisis.
Arsenal have held lengthy and extensive talks over the past two months with seven different fan groups who make up part of their Arsenal fan advisory board.
Arsenal will offer a retention on senior citizen prices, increase in concessions for young people, a commitment to community in its 40th anniversary and the option of a greater choice and flexibility on season tickets.
Clearly it has been done with reluctance but Arsenal did announce losses of £17.7m in their last financial year despite making record revenue of £616m.
That came despite the Gunners finishing second in the Premier League and reaching the quarter finals of the Champions League. It shows just how difficult it is to remain competitive while also balancing the books.
Arsenal did also put up ticket prices last year by six per cent in the lower tier and four per cent in the upper tier.
They are expecting a big summer transfer window before next season but did not spend anything in January in the winter market.
Arsenal are expected to communicate the decision to their fans and the reasoning when next season’s prices are officially announced.
