A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell, who was shot dead in south London earlier this week.
Lathaniel, from Stockwell, was declared dead at the scene on Paradise Road at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4.
Witnesses described the attackers riding to and from the area on a moped ‘dressed as Deliveroo drivers’.
The suspect, aged 32, remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee said: ‘Our detectives are working hard to piece together the events of Tuesday afternoon and identify those responsible for killing Lathaniel.
‘We continue to appeal for anyone with information about Lathaniel’s murder to please come forward and speak to us.’
Relatives of Lathaniel, who declined to give their names, described the teenager as a Manchester United fan who enjoyed playing PlayStation 5 and had one sibling, a sister.
A woman who said she knew his mom described the teenager as ‘very bright at school’ and said his dad worked at a nearby go-karting facility.
The death was described as a ‘life wasted’ by Florence Eshalomi, Labour MP for Vauxhall and Camberwell Green.
