Scots gangsters Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr are believed to have been killed in a deadly double assassination, sources reveal.
The pair were reportedly gunned down outside a bar run by Monaghan in Malaga, Spain.
Spanish cops are probing the slaughter which comes amid a raging gang war in Scotland.
A source close to the notorious Lyons mob confirmed both men had been killed in the brutal Costa Del Sol hit.
Another insider said: “This takes things to another level but it’s not clear if it’s linked to the Scottish feud or to another dispute with gangsters from another group.”
Scottish cops would not say if they were working with Spanish authorities probing the bloodshed and said all enquiries should be referred to cops in Spain.
A spokesman for the National Police in Malaga, in the force’s first official comment on the incident, said this morning: “Around midnight an incident with firearms occurred in Fuengirola, specifically at an entertainment venue along the seafront.
“Two males died as a result from gunshot wounds.
“The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.”
One of the men killed is said to have died instantly after being shot in the chest.
The other also died at the scene despite desperate efforts to save him before he could be transferred to hospital.
They are understood to have been shot near the entrance door by a masked gunman who got out of a car.
The vehicle screeched to a halt outside the bar before fleeing in the same vehicle driven by an accomplice.
A masked man is said to have entered the pub and killed his victims in front of horrified tourists and expats enjoying a drink after the end of the Champions League final before fleeing in a getaway vehicle.
Some reports speak of two gunmen, although this has yet to be confirmed by police.

The nationalities of the two people killed has not yet been made public by officials but sources have confirmed the men are the two Scots.
Grisly pictures from the scene of last night’s shooting, which occurred around 11.30pm, show a man lying lifeless on his back in shorts and a T-shirt by a drinks and meal blackboard on an outside terrace at the Irish bar.
In other disturbing images police and paramedics can be seen surrounding the body of one of the victims, thought to be the same man, after he was covered under a blanket as shocked locals and holidaymakers looked on.
There are no reports yet of any arrests, although police set up roadblocks in the area after the shooting to try to catch those responsible.
Sources say Monaghan, 43, runs the boozer in Marbella where scores of Scots hoods are based including Steven Lyons, 44, and Eddie Lyons Jnr, 46.
An insider said: “Monaghan runs the boozer although you won’t find his name on any official documents.
“He’s been based out there for years with Steven Lyons and whatever has happened here looks like a classic gangland hit.
“It may not have anything to do with the ongoing gang war but the fact that it’s two Scots that have been shot dead will raise eyebrows for sure.”
It comes amid a gang war being waged in Scotland linked to mobsters in Dubai and Spain but it’s not yet clear if the shootings are connected to the ongoing violence.
A Dubai-based hood Ross ‘Miami’ McGill, 31, has been blamed for launching a wave of attacks in Glasgow and Edinburgh over a drug deal gone wrong.
Footsoldiers have been carrying out firebombings and assaults on associates of caged crime kingpin Mark Richardson and the notorious Daniel clan.
More than 40 arrests have been made by cops working to bring the carnage to an end.
A source said: “This news from Spain is shocking and people will wonder if it’s connected to what’s going on in Scotland.
“There are plenty of Scots hoods based out there. It’s horrifying.”
It comes days after a vicious mob waging a gang war on Scotland’s streets DENIED reports of a truce - and have vowed ’we aren’t going away.’
It was claimed that rival crews from the Lyons and Daniel factions have agreed to halt the violence on orders from Dubai-based mob boss Ross McGill, 31.
But sinister group Tamo Junto (TMJ) - who claim to be waging war against the Daniel’s crime clan and its associates - today blew those claims out of the water.
And they said they would continue to target the Daniel clan or anyone associated with drugs kingpin Mark Richardson, 38.
They said: ‘We have terrorised you since March and we will continue to do so.
We previously reported that rising mob boss McGill was ripped off in a £500,000 drug deal because he was seen as “a nobody”, it was claimed.
Sources say dealers decided to “bump” the ex-Rangers ultras leader, nicknamed ‘Miami’, as they’d never heard of him.
