The body of a man was discovered in a car at an Asda superstore yesterday morning, and multiple police vehicles were dispatched to the scene.
He was reported as unresponsive, and after emergency services arrived, he was declared dead.
The cause of death has not been disclosed, and police stated that a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Shoppers described how a police forensics tent was set up outside the supermarket.
Eddie Conner, who was at the supermarket yesterday, told Leicester Live he saw numerous police cars, a private ambulance and a tow truck.
A spokesperson for Leicester Police said: ‘Shortly after 7.10am on Saturday police were called after a man was found unresponsive in his car in Exploration Drive, Leicester.
‘Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the man, who is is his 70s, was declared deceased at the scene.
‘There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.’
