A young man is fighting for life following a double shooting in west London hours after another gun attack 10 miles away.
The 30-year-old and a second victim, also in his 30s, were shot on Claxton Grove, Hammersmith at around 11.20pm on Wednesday.
A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder remains in police custody.
Officers had been called to a disturbance in the street close to Barons Court Underground station, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
The force added: “Upon arrival, the London Ambulance Service were treating two men for gunshot wounds.”
Both victims were taken to hospital where it was confirmed the 30-year-old had life-threatening injuries. The younger man was treated for minor injuries.
Police said Claxton Grove will remain closed while a crime scene is in place.
It follows another shooting overnight in Hackney. The Met have been asked for further details.
