
Israel has carried out a large-scale operation that, according to preliminary data, resulted in the elimination of key figures within Iran’s defense apparatus and the targeting of critical elements of its nuclear infrastructure.
Among the eliminated key individuals reportedly linked to Iran’s nuclear program and military leadership are:
Major General Hossein Salami — Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Major General Mohammad Bagheri — Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid — Commander of the IRGC’s Central Command “Khatam al-Anbiya” (earlier reports also indicated the death of his son).
Ali Shamkhani — Advisor to the Supreme Leader, reportedly severely wounded.
Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani — Former head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (nuclear scientist).
Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi — President of the Islamic Azad University, expert in laser isotope separation (nuclear scientist).
Critical components of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure were also targeted, including:

a plutonium reactor used for research and medical purposes;

an underground missile-nuclear complex with an extensive silo base;

a nuclear technology center involved in uranium processing;

a research laboratory believed by Israel to serve as a backup for small reactors.
According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the strikes were aimed "at the very heart of Iran’s nuclear program." The operation also reportedly targeted at least six military bases around Tehran.
