Lawyers for the American billionaire claim he "does not use a computer"
During a court case against OpenAI, Elon Musk’s lawyers stated that the billionaire does not use a personal computer. This information comes from Wired.
In recent months, Elon Musk and Sam Altman’s OpenAI have filed multiple lawsuits against each other. During the proceedings, Musk’s legal team attempted to block the seizure of documents allegedly stored on the billionaire’s computer. The entrepreneur’s lawyers claimed that he does not use a computer, making it impossible to disclose any personal documents belonging to Musk.

Elon Musk and his artificial intelligence startup xAI filed a lawsuit against OpenAI in February 2024, alleging that the company had breached its contract by abandoning its founding agreement to develop artificial intelligence “for the benefit of humanity,” opting instead to “maximize profits for Microsoft.”

It remains unclear exactly when Musk supposedly stopped using a computer. The billionaire has posted photos or mentioned his laptop on X multiple times in recent months, and public evidence indicates that he uses at least one computer. For example, in February 2024, the businessman complained that he couldn’t install Windows 11 on his computer without creating a Microsoft account. Several X employees stated that while Musk primarily works from his mobile phone, he has occasionally been seen using a laptop.
In May 2025, Musk wrote on X that he “still uses his old computer with a Doge sticker that a fan made a long time ago.” The post was a response to a user asking Musk about his gaming setup and whether it was a “fully-fledged gaming PC.”
Wired journalists believe that Elon Musk’s lawyers are deliberately misleading the court in order to protect their client.
