A woman was reportedly racially abused while shopping with her ten-month-old baby.
The frightening ordeal involved the victim, who is Muslim, being approached by a man as she walked towards a shop at a retail park near Bescot Crescent in Walsall.
She claims that the man made a noise before spitting at her, with his saliva landing on her coat.
The disgusting act was followed by the man using a racial slur.
The mother described how the ordeal has left her feeling unsafe in Walsall, where she has lived all her life.

Speaking about the incident, which happened on Monday, October 27, she said: "I went to Bescot retail park with my 10-month-old baby this morning.
"Since it is a fairly busy retail park and it was during the morning time and school holidays, I felt it was safe for me and my daughter to go alone, as we often do.
"As I came out of one shop to make my way to another, I saw a tall white male on his own walking towards us. I thought nothing of it.
"When he got a little closer, I noticed he was looking directly at us. As he approached, I heard him make a noise as if clearing his throat, and he then spat at me, on my coat.
"I was in shock as it was completely unprovoked, especially given that I had my baby with me in the stroller. At first, I almost thought it was an accident. He then called me a dirty ****. I froze in shock as he continued walking as if nothing had happened."
The woman continued: "As I had my daughter with me and was worried he might turn back to us and do or say something more, I returned to my car.
"It was frightening and has made me very nervous about going out alone with my daughter.
"I was born and raised in Walsall, and my parents are British too, so I find it quite shocking to hear racist remarks, but I have noticed this is becoming more and more common over time, especially in the West Midlands area. It is sad to say, but as an Asian woman, I no longer feel safe in the area."
West Midlands Police officers are aware of the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We have received a report of a woman being racially abused in Walsall and are carrying out further inquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
