Woman to be imprisoned for taking over £11,000 from a friend in a vulnerable state

A woman will be facing jail when she is sentenced next month for a "mean" fraud in which she took more than £11k from a vulnerable family friend.

Sharon Twitchett took the money between 2017 and 2021.

The 53-year-old is due to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on December 5.

The defendant, of Holly Way, Gorleston, admitted fraud when she appeared at court in October.

Adjourning the case for a pre-sentence report to be carried out, Judge Andrew Shaw said it had been "mean offending" against a "very vulnerable person" and that he could not rule out a custodial sentence.
