A rising American rapper who previously collaborated with Blink-182 star Travis Barker, has died at the age of 26 after a ’medical emergency’ at a hotel.

A rising rap star has died aged just 26. The star, who has collaborated with Travis Barker, was reportedly ’rushed to hospital from hotel’.

Poorstacy, whose real name is Carlito Milfort, died after suffering “a medical emergency” on Saturday morning. His cause of death is still under investigation.

According to a member of the hotel where he was staying, the musician had been staying at the complex for 10 days before his death. It’s said he had checked in to the Boca Raton in Florida with a woman and a toddler, according to the worker who was speaking to US publication TMZ.

The star’s unique take on the punk and emo rap genre had been a huge success in his short career. Poorstacy, who is originally from Palm Beach, Florida, also used heavy metal for inspiration.

For many of his tunes, the rapper collaborated with his close pal, Blink-182’s Travis Barker. The duo released three songs together.

One included their 2020 track titled Choose Life. The song was featured on Poorstacy’s best-selling album, The Breakfast Club.

He also released his second album titled Party at the Cemetery a short time later. His latest tune was released in July when he dropped his newest and last song titled Nothing belongs to you.

Before settling on the name Poorstacy, the rapper tried out a number of different monikers. Prior to his success, he uploaded music online under a string of different names. These included Lito Xantana, Vizion, and Scarybrats.

The star was also featured on the Grammy Award-nominated soundtrack for 2020’s sci-fi comedy Bill and Ted Face the Music. The film starred Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves.

After the devastating news, fans took to social media to share messages of condolence. On Twitter/ X, one user wrote: "Rip to a legend, thanks for what you’ve done for me poorstacy." They shared a screenshot of his hit tune Don’t Look At Me alongside their words.

Another echoed the sentiment, saying: "I’m sorry everyone. Yea. Poorstacy is dead (image. From reddit from poorstacy’s guitar player) #poorstacy. RIP LLC"

The images showed two people holding hands in a hospital bed. They captioned the photo: "Love you Stacy." They included a number of love heart emojis before continuing: "Rest in f***ing power," with more emotional emojis.

Under his final Instagram post, fans were also quick to comment. "Ur loved bro, always," one follower wrote. "Thank you for all the memories. rest in peace brother," another commented.

His last post from over three months ago showed him in a car. He captioned his upload: "I’m A beamer boy."
