The 16-year-old girl is on trial alongside two boys aged 15 and 16 accused of killing Alexander Cashford, 49, on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent.
A teenage girl accused of murdering a man at a seaside resort screamed “f****** paedophile, I’m f****** 16, get him” as she filmed him being attacked, a court has heard.
The 16-year-old girl is on trial alongside two boys aged 15 and 16 accused of killing Alexander Cashford, 49, in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. Woolwich Crown Court was told Mr Cashford was found lying face down in mud with severe head and facial injuries just over an hour after meeting the trio on August 10 last year.
Prosecutors say the teenagers lured him to the beach using a fake name, “Sienna”, after exchanging dozens of messages with him in the days leading up to his death. The court heard the group were seen near the promenade that evening as Mr Cashford travelled to the village to meet the girl. Jurors were told he met the 16-year-old on the seafront shortly before 7pm.
The pair walked along the promenade while the two boys followed behind. During the walk, the girl picked up an empty glass bottle, prosecutors said. Police later recovered a video from the 16-year-old boy’s phone which the prosecution say was filmed by the girl during the attack.

In the footage, she can be heard shouting: “F****** paedophile, I’m f****** 16,” followed by “Get him”.
The 16-year-old boy is seen holding the glass bottle and shouting before striking Mr Cashford on the back of the head and swinging it at his upper body, the court was told. As the boys chased the victim, he fell onto the stone floor. Jurors heard the 15-year-old boy then tripped over the 49-year-old as he lay on the ground.
The girl is heard shouting: “Get him, f****** nonce,” before the recording cuts out.
Jurors were also told the 16-year-old boy later sent the footage of the alleged attack to three people with the caption: “f***** pedo (sic) up lol”.
Prosecutors said he sent the clip shortly before his arrest. The court heard police were called to the scene by a witness at 7.14pm on August 10. CCTV footage later showed the three defendants walking away from the area where Mr Cashford’s body was found.
Jurors were shown brief video footage which appeared to show shouting, two boys and a man running. Police also found pictures on the 16-year-old boy’s phone showing injuries the 15-year-old boy sustained after he fell when he tripped over Mr Cashford, the court heard.
Chance meeting
Earlier, the court heard that Mr Cashford first met the girl by chance at an amusement arcade in Leysdown-on-Sea two days before the killing. Prosecutors said he gave her a business card and his phone number was later saved in a phone belonging to the 16-year-old boy under the name “Pedo”.
The first message sent to Mr Cashford read: “Hi it’s the girl from the arcade but to let you know I am 16 if u care about that kind of thing.”
Around 75 messages were exchanged over the next two days between Mr Cashford and someone he believed to be a 16-year-old girl called Sienna. Jurors were told Mr Cashford claimed to be 30 years old and asked if she liked champagne, to which the reply came: “Yeaaaa I love champagne.”

Messages later suggested they meet at the beach before going to her parents’ empty house, with “Sienna” telling him to bring alcohol. He also sent a message saying he would like to kiss her, to which a reply was sent apparently agreeing.
Prosecutor Kate Blumgart KC told jurors police identification procedures were carried out during the investigation. One witness identified the girl as having been at the scene shouting: “He’s a f****** paedo.”
Another identified the younger boy as the person who tripped as Mr Cashford fell while trying to run away from the teenagers. Ms Blumgart also outlined the findings of the post-mortem examination.
She said Mr Cashford had “abrasions all over his head and neck”, including one to the back of his skull with “associated significant swelling”, as well as bruises and cuts to his arms, hands, legs and torso. A number of his left ribs were fractured, causing his lung to collapse, jurors were told.
The court also heard Mr Cashford had previously suffered a heart attack and had a stent fitted. The three teenagers deny murder.
The trial continues.
