Transgender sex offender Barbie Kardashian was transferred from a women's prison after confessing to making threats to sexually assault child murderer Tegan McGhee and a female prison officer

Kardashian was moved from the women’s prison in Limerick and placed in isolation in an area of the male prison following the self-confessed threats to McGhee as well as a female prison officer

Notorious transgender sex offender Barbie Kardashian was booted out of a women’s prison after threatening to rape evil child killer Tegan McGhee, it can be revealed today.

The Irish Mirror has confirmed that Kardashian was moved from the women’s section of Limerick Prison to the male facility following the threats to McGhee.

The incident happened in June 2023 – while McGhee was locked up when she was charged with the shocking March 2021 murder of little Mason O'Connell Conway, who was just four.

Kardashian could not be connected to the threats against McGhee as she could not be named when she was on trial for Mason’s murder – but we can publish the link now.

That’s because the judicial ban on naming McGhee, 32, was lifted when she was jailed for life on Wednesday for the brutal murder of Mason – a crime that shocked the nation.

We can reveal that sex offender Kardashian, who is now free, was moved from the women’s prison in Limerick following the self-confessed threats to McGhee as well as a female prison officer. Kardashian was placed in isolation in an area of the male prison.

Kardashian, 23, who identifies as female and legally changed their name from Gabriel Alejandro Gentile, threatened to rape McGhee and sexually assault a female prison officer in June 2023.

McGhee had been in the prison since she was charged with Mason’s murder in October 2022.

Kardashian later admitted to making both threats.

But a jury in Limerick circuit criminal court acquitted Kardashian in October 2024 of four counts of threatening to kill or cause serious harm – one on McGhee and the other three on the female prison officer.

Kardashian smiled and whispered “Yes...I’m so happy” when the verdicts were read out in court.

Kardashian’s five day trial heard chilling evidence about the threats – from the accused’s own mouth.

Kardashian, whose parents are from Venezuela, took to the witness stand and admitted the threats.

Kardashian told the court she wanted to make McGhee and the prison officer “suffer” because she was upset and angry that rumours were circulating about her leaving showers dirty on the women’s landing of the prison.

McGhee had earlier told the trial that she had accused Kardashian of leaving the showers dirty.

McGhee said she had the job of cleaning the showers and she had to use “a hose” a number of times to remove “body hair” from the showers.

Kardashian later admitted to prosecution counsel John O’Sullivan while on the stand that she told McGhee she was going to rape her with an object so that she would be so injured “so she would not be able to have children”.

Kardashian said: “I wanted to use an electric rod, but that wasn’t available to me. I remember thinking I wanted to use the handle of a sweeping brush or a mop. I wanted to torture her sexually I wanted to sexually electrocute her genitalia.”

When asked why use an “object” to rape, Kardashian replied: “Because I am a woman, and women use objects, that’s why I said object.”

Kardashian added: “I hate having male genitalia and I would use an object to commit rape.

“If a woman wants to rape, that’s how I would commit rape.”

Kardashian was serving a five year jail term for threatening to rape and kill her own mother when she was charged with these threats.

Kardashian had 15 previous convictions including for threats to kill, sexual assault, assault causing harm, assault, and causing criminal damage to property.

McGhee stayed in Limerick Prison on remand after the incident – but was moved to the Dochas Centre Dublin in recent days.

It’s understood she was moved before she was handed down the mandatory sentence by Mr Justice Paul McDermott at the Central Criminal Court on Wednesday for the murder of little Mason.

Mason’s father, John Paul O'Connell, 36, was previously sentenced to seven years in prison having pleaded guilty to endangerment, neglect and impeding McGhee's apprehension or prosecution, knowing or believing she had murdered his son.

Mason’s mother Elizabeth Conway clutched a photo of the little boy outside court and said she would never forgive herself for trusting McGhee and O’Connell to look after her son.

"The lies John Paul O'Connell and Tegan McGhee told everyone - only for the gardaí they would have got away with it. I trusted them to my Mason and for that I will never forgive myself," said a tearful Ms. Conway.

She added: "I couldn't wait to watch Mason grow up, hitting his milestones but unfortunately I will never see my son alive again.

“Mason was such a loving and caring little child who brought so much love and happiness into our lives.

"The best son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin - with the biggest brown eyes and a smile from ear to ear.

"Mason was a typical four year-old little boy that loved cars, bikes, school, playing with his siblings and friends and being in his nanny's house."

Mr Justice Paul McDermott sentenced McGhee, of no fixed abode, to life imprisonment for the murder of Mason O'Connell Conway at a house she was renting with O’Connell, the boy's father in Rathbane, Limerick city on March 16, 2021.

Mason (4) was found with serious injuries at a house in Rathbane, Limerick City, on March 13th, 2021. He was pronounced dead three days later.

The trial heard that on March 13, 2021, the child's father phoned emergency services, saying his son had fallen from the top bunk of his bed one hour earlier and could not be roused.

When paramedics arrived they found the boy lying on the floor of his bedroom, unresponsive. They rushed him to hospital and despite emergency intervention and surgery, he did not recover. Medical professionals noted numerous bruises of various ages all over the child's face, head, torso and legs that were indicative of non-accidental injuries or abuse.

The father explained the injuries by saying that his son was the "the clumsiest child ever" and that he had run into a door or been hurt playing football.

However, it emerged during stepmother McGhee’s trial that he had been subjected to physical abuse for weeks. He had also spent four days grounded in his room before his stepmother shook him and struck his head off the floor. He had also suffered a blunt force injury to his abdomen that lacerated his liver. A pathologist found that either injury to the head or the liver would have caused death on their own.

Shannon said: “My sister Tegan is an evil monster. No amount of words can describe how cold and cruel she is.

“She fooled us all for a full year before she was arrested and the truth came out. I couldn’t understand how the person I knew and loved my whole life was someone I didn’t even know. I’ve never said anything about this before because they weren’t allowed to be named.

“When Mason died we also lost him. He was a beautiful little boy who brought so much joy to our lives and we mourn him every day,” she added.

“Tegan and John Paul not only took Mason's life but ruined everyone else’s along with it.

“Justice has finally been served although no amount of time can ever compare to the life she stole from Mason.”
