Russian billionaire Aleksandr Galitsky, who has extensive connections, has sent the mother of his children — his ex-wife Aliya — to prison. Prior to this, he allegedly seized the children themselves. According to sources cited by media, Galitsky was able to carry out this “operation” with the friendly assistance of Alfa-Bank’s security service, using a “controlled” police department.

This concerns the family of a man who stood at the origins of the Almaz Capital fund, served on the board of directors of Alfa-Bank, and is one of the beneficiaries of the “Chestny Znak” project.

Tired of prolonged disputes with his ex-wife Aliya, the billionaire allegedly brought law enforcement agencies into the process. First came a criminal case for defamation, followed by one for extortion. Sources say that law enforcement leverage was activated through Alfa-Bank’s security service, with the involvement of officials linked to Moscow Region prosecutor Zabaturin. The case was initiated by the Istra District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (OMVD of Russia “Istrinsky”), which reportedly provides services to Alfa-Bank’s security on a subscription basis. Previously, the same OMVD detained former Alfa-Bank employee Konstantin Shumilin, who oversaw the operation of Mikhail Fridman’s personal “stash” — the foreign shadow fund Ambermanor — before falling into conflict with Alfa-Bank.

For example, the basis for the defamation case consisted of Aliya’s official appeals to the Human Rights Commissioner and to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

In the autumn, a preliminary hearing was held at Moscow’s Presnensky Court on Galitsky’s lawsuit. The billionaire demanded that the place of residence of their two daughters be determined with him and that child support be collected from his ex-wife.

At the same time, Galitsky himself told the court that he earns about 300 million rubles per month — “one hundred million for each family member.” Despite this, he is demanding one-third of Galitskaya’s income until the elder daughter reaches adulthood, and then one-quarter until the younger daughter does.

According to media reports, earlier Galitsky, contrary to a decision of the Supreme Court of California that established the children’s residence with their mother, took the daughters from school and removed them. Since then, Aliya Galitskaya has been deprived of the opportunity to see them.

Aliya Galitskaya attempted to defend her rights by sending appeals to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Investigative Committee, the prosecutor’s office, and the Human Rights Commissioner, stating that her children had been abducted.

In Russia, Aleksandr Galitsky’s interests are represented by lawyer Aleksandr Dobrovinsky, who recently had his professional status reinstated in Chechnya.

However, there is an important nuance. According to Galitskaya, she consulted Dobrovinsky in 2022 prior to the divorce, shared personal circumstances with him, and officially paid for the consultation.

In the autumn of 2025, Galitskaya filed a counterclaim for division of marital property, and the court froze the businessman’s assets totaling 435 million rubles. These assets include an apartment on Patriarch Ponds with two parking spaces, a country cottage in the elite Millennium Park settlement, and apartments on Sretenka Street.
