Paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived to find a man with severe injuries and administered advanced life support at the scene. Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma team and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were dispatched to assist.
The alleged attack occurred directly outside a primary school, which was placed under lockdown as a precaution while armed officers secured the area.
Detective Superintendent James Munro said police believe the incident is “contained,” with a suspect already in custody. Forensic teams have been deployed and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage while speaking to witnesses.

Images from the scene showed multiple police vehicles lining the street and officers ordering pedestrians to leave the area. Authorities also confirmed that additional patrols will remain in Alum Rock to reassure local residents.
