Charlton reported that Conor Coady has been discharged from the hospital after being knocked unconscious during their draw against Watford. Coady was stretchered off the pitch in the closing stages of the 1-1 draw between the two clubs on Easter Monday.
The veteran defender was hit in the face by a fiercely-struck shot and was knocked out. Medical staff reacted quickly, and the 33-year-old was taken to the hospital to be assessed.
There was a lengthy delay at Vicarage Road before the match could conclude. It finished 1-1 after Matty Godden’s 62nd-minute goal for the away side was canceled out by Nestory Irankunda’s equalizer for Watford in the 74th minute.
Charlton said in a statement: "Conor Coady has been discharged from the hospital following a head injury sustained in Monday’s 1-1 draw against Watford at Vicarage Road.

"The 33-year-old was knocked unconscious after being struck by a shot in stoppage time. He was stretchered off and taken to a local hospital, where he underwent a series of scans.
"Coady has since been given the all-clear and was discharged this evening. The club would like to thank Watford’s medical staff for their support and assistance. Charlton’s medical staff will continue to monitor him in line with the appropriate protocols."
Charlton boss Nathan Jones paid tribute to Coady post-match. He said: “He was taken to hospital. He put his body on the line on his 500th [career club] appearance. He gets knocked out and that [bravery] typifies his performance.”
Jones added to BBC Radio London: "It’s a good point. Watford have outstanding individuals who can change and win a game - players who have cost millions, talented individuals from all over Europe.
"When we got the goal, they made a plethora of positive subs. We found that difficult to contain but we didn’t give them any clear-cut chances and, when they shot from distance, [goalkeeper] Will Mannion had a wonderful game.
"We need to get a win very, very soon, so it just settles everyone down and we can start planning. We’ll probably have to lose every game to be embroiled in anything, but the message is to finish the season strongly."
The draw leaves Charlton 18th in the Championship, while Watford are 10th, seven points adrift of the play-offs with five games left to play.
