Patrick Muldoon has passed away at the age of 57. The actor, known for his roles in Saved By The Bell and Days Of Our Lives, passed away on Sunday morning.
The late star is reported to have suffered a heart attack, but his official cause of death has yet to be confirmed. Tributes have poured in from those closest to him, describing him as “endlessly generous.”
Muldoon was described as “stylish, charismatic, and full of life,” with a friend adding that he "embraced each day with a full-tilt, rock ’n’ roll spirit.”
The California native began his career in the early 90s and made his TV debut that same year by appearing in two episodes of the popular sitcom Who’s The Boss, before landing a small part in Saved By The Bell as Jeff, alongside Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Dustin Diamond, and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen.
In 1992, he was given one of the biggest roles of his career as Austin Reed in Days Of Our Lives, the brother of Lisa Rinna’s Billie Reed. He originally played the boxer for three years before returning to the character in 2011.

Just last year, he sent viewers into a spin when he teased a possible return to the set, in a video shared on Peacock’s official Instagram page. In the brief clip, he could be seen wandering around backstage, before telling the cameras: "Oh my God, I’m in Salem! It’s good to be back."
Following his first stint on Days, Muldoon was cast as Melrose Place villain Richard Hart, before appearing in a selection of TV films, including Chain of Command, Project Viper, Fatal Acquittal, and Patient Killer.
On the big screen, he appeared in Starship Troopers alongside ex-girlfriend Denise Richards, as well as in Stigmata, Saving Christmas, Marlowe, Spiders 3D, and The Comeback Trail, with his last film credit as Thomas Bennett in 2024’s Murder at Hollow Creek.
He also stepped behind the camera to produce a series of projects. He most recently worked on Kockroach - starring Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton - and raved about the project on Instagram just a few days ago.
In his last Instagram post, he wrote: "So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin. Filming now in Australia.”
Devastated fans flocked to the comments section below to share tributes, with one writing: “Grew up watching you in Starship Troopers. R.I.P legend.”
“Oh my God, noooo I can’t believe this is true. RIP Patrick,” another commented, as a follower shared: “You will be missed! Wishing all of Patrick’s friends, family, and devoted fans love, comfort, and intentions of peace and ease.”
“Such a kind, talented soul. You will be missed,” an Instagram user wrote, while a grieving fan added: “RIP Patrick, breaks my heart to see the news. The world has lost a remarkable man!”
Muldoon, reportedly known as “Bobo” to loved ones, is survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart, and his parents, Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr.
