This is the terrifying moment an elderly man was attacked with a machete in broad daylight on a Glasgow street.
Shocking footage captured the assailant hacking at the pensioner – who is believed to have been stabbed in a car moments earlier.


Emergency crews, including armed police and a dog unit, were dispatched to Auckland Wynd in Dalmarnock on Tuesday afternoon.

The alarm was raised at around 12:10 pm after police received a report of a serious assault within a vehicle on the street.
The 77-year-old was rushed to the hospital for treatment after being found seriously injured at the scene.
Disturbing footage from the scene shows the moment the violent attacker slashed the elderly man with a machete.
The pensioner is believed to have been stabbed inside a black Mercedes car before getting out of the vehicle to try and stop the assailant from getting into the trunk.
In the clip, the machete-wielding attacker is seen pushing the man away while holding the weapon in his hand.
He then opens the trunk of the car before the elderly man tries to close it again.
The perpetrator, dressed in black, then starts hacking at the man with a large blade as he attempts to seize bin bags from the vehicle.
The pensioner tries to avoid several blows as the attacker grabs one of the bags from the trunk and throws it to the ground.
A manhunt for the machete attacker has been launched, while the luxury Mercedes vehicle was seized by the police.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12:10 pm on Tuesday, 28 April, 2026, we received a report of a serious assault within a vehicle on Auckland Wynd in Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and a 77-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Officers remain in the area and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12:05 pm on 28 April to attend an incident at Auckland Wynd, Glasgow.
“An ambulance, two special operations response teams (SORT), a paramedic response car, and a critical care team were dispatched to the scene.
“One patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
