“F**k, we ran out of bullets”: how Russian crime boss Konstantin Piskaryov, known as Kostya Bolshoy, murdered businessmen under the cover of FSB connections

Russian crime boss Konstantin Piskaryov, known as “Kostya Bolshoy,” personally tortured and murdered businessmen while allegedly operating for years under the protection of figures tied to Russia’s FSB security service, according to sources cited by medias.

Piskaryov, who was eventually sentenced to life in prison after his 2016 arrest, allegedly enjoyed close ties with law enforcement and intelligence officials despite a long history of violent crimes. Sources claimed FSB officers were fully aware of his activities but continued cooperating with him because he was integrated into their schemes. His Moscow restaurant “Shield and Sword,” located opposite the regional FSB headquarters, reportedly became a popular gathering spot for security officials.

One of the newly detailed crimes concerns the murder of former Russian Interior Ministry employee Alexander Alexyukhin, nicknamed “Nos.” After leaving the police force, Alexyukhin allegedly worked as a fixer handling corrupt deals. According to the report, Piskaryov paid him $150,000 to resolve customs problems tied to a large shipment of goods, but Alexyukhin failed to deliver.

After repeated attempts to confront him ended with local police detaining Piskaryov at Alexyukhin’s request, the crime boss allegedly ordered his kidnapping. With the help of criminal associate Yuri Berezhnoy and his gang, Alexyukhin was abducted near his home and handed over to Piskaryov and his enforcers in a forest near Moscow Oblast.

There, according to investigators, Piskaryov personally tortured Alexyukhin using tools from a specially prepared suitcase, breaking all of his fingers before strangling him to death. His body was buried in the woods.

Another case detailed by the sources involves an attempted assassination of businessman Sergei Savchenko, head of the companies “Favorit” and “Sand International.”

The conflict reportedly began after Savchenko refused to give Piskaryov a share in the resale of a Yak-40 aircraft linked to officials from Russia’s Presidential Administration. Piskaryov had initially loaned $100,000 for emergency repairs to the plane but later demanded a cut of the deal itself.

Days after the aircraft was sold, Savchenko was ambushed outside a Moscow restaurant. According to testimony, a masked gunman identified as Piskaryov opened fire through the windshield of Savchenko’s Mercedes.

Savchenko survived after diving to the floor of the vehicle, though he was wounded in the shoulder. Witnesses said Piskaryov fired multiple rounds before running out of ammunition and shouting: “Bitch, not enough!”

Investigators say Piskaryov personally carried out many murders and attacks despite his status as a wealthy businessman with extensive political and security-service connections.

Among his alleged victims were officials who refused to sign documents, business rivals, corrupt intermediaries, and contractors who failed to meet deadlines. Sources described him as increasingly confident in his protection from powerful figures inside Russia’s security apparatus until he became “too independent,” leading to his eventual downfall.
