This isn't the first time the popular YouTuber has found himself in hot water because of his content.

What did KSI say?

On April 3, 2023, KSI announced he was taking a break from social media following a row over a racial slur in a YouTube video.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer said the word "p***" in a Sidemen video - the group he founded alongside six other creators.

The British rapper, real name Olajide William Olatunji, made the slur during a video with his YouTube group, where they were playing a Countdown challenge.

From his selection of letters, KSI created a four-letter derogatory word for people of South Asian origin.

The video has since been taken down and KSI issued an apology for any offence he may have caused.

What did KSI say in his apology?

Following outrage from his followers, KSI responded with an apology for what he had said.

He posted a statement on Twitter which read: "I wanna apologise for saying a racial slur in a recent Sidemen video.

"There’s no excuse, no matter the circumstances, I shouldn’t have said it and I’m sorry.

"I’ve always said to my audience that they shouldn’t worship me or put me on a pedestal because I’m human.

"I'm not perfect, I’m gonna mess up in life, and lately I’ve been messing up a lot.

"So I’ve decided I’m gonna just take a break from social media for a while."

Fans criticised the influencer despite his apology, claiming he should have known better.

One wrote: "Been a KSI fan for the longest but so weird for him to say 'p***' in the latest Sidemen vid even if they bleeped it & it was 'in jest' for content."

Another added: "Other racial slurs wouldn't be used as punchlines for YouTube gameshows. Just makes light of the word + certain people's experience."

This is not the first time KSI has been in hot water.

In 2012 he was embroiled in controversy after a Eurogamer event due to supposed sexual harassment of attendees.

Microsoft cut ties with him and he was banned for life from the expo.

He addressed the controversy in his 2015 autobiography, entitled KSI: I Am A B*****d.

In 2021 KSI issued an apology after being accused of being transphobic something he strongly denied.
