The New York Giants are set to bring in NFL Draft prospect Hendon Hooker for a top-30 visit in what appears to be another eye-raising decision just days after they extended Daniel Jones.

Jones was given a new four-year extension deal last week, signing for around $40 million per season, meaning he'll be one of the highest paid players in the league.

Despite that, the Giants look like they have serious interest in Tennessee quarterback Hooker, who is expected to be a second round draft pick in April.

Prior to the draft, teams are allowed to meet with just 30 players from college as they continue to make their evaluations. It's a process that teams usually use to bring in their top-ranked prospects, with first-round pick selections being so important.

The Giants using one of their slots on Hooker suggests that they have serious interest in him, who could come in and legitimately compete with Jones, if given the opportunity to.

Hooker was one of the more impressive quarterbacks in college last season, and impressed scouts at 6'3 and 217 pounds. But the quarterback is several years older than other prospects, and will be 26 in his first season in the league - the same age as Lamar Jackson, who was drafted five years ago.

This year's NFL Draft is loaded with quarterbacks, with four expected to go within the top 10 picks (Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Will Levis and Anthony Richardson) with many believing Hooker to be the next best prospect.

But the Giants are highly unlikely to use a high pick on him after giving Jones his huge extension.

Drafted with the sixth pick overall in 2019, Jones had hardly lived up to expectations in his first three seasons. But his fourth year was by far the best so far, having been paired with new head coach Brian Daboll, who won coach of the year after transforming the Giants into a playoff team.

The Giants will now look to add some receivers to the team in free agency, as well as in the upcoming draft, after signing Saquon Barkley to a franchise-tag deal for the upcoming season.
