Tony Blackburn was born on January 29, 1943.
He began living in Guilford, Surrey with his parents Kenneth and Pauline.
They both worked worked in the health service, one being a GP, the other a nurse.

Taking to social media last night, Blackburn announced that he would not be able to appear on his schedule shows this weekend.
He announced to his Twitter followers "Sorry to say I won’t be doing my shows over the weekend as I have a very annoying virus which is taking its time to go away."
His usual shows are to bee replaced with re-runs of his "Happy Birthday show" and a special Golden Hour episode.
Well-wishers immediately commented on the DJ's post hoping him a speedy recovery from his illness.
"Get well soon Tony, you are a special part of our lives."
Another commented "Get well soon my friend. And take your time to heal."
