Amanda Owen has shared footage of "serious flooding" that occurred on the farm in Yorkshire earlier this week, with her having described the experience as "scary".

The hill farmer, 48, has faced challenging conditions on Ravenseat Farm in recent weeks, including the estate having been blanketed in snow recently.

She however has suggested that the thawing of the snow led to "horrendous" conditions on Monday (March 13), telling fans that the farm experienced flooding because of it.

The mother-of-nine suggested that thawed snow had led rivers and streams to overflow, with her sharing footage on Twitter to showcase the severity of the situation this week.

This included a clip that showed one of her sheep being carried downstream by fast-moving water. Fortunately, the animal manages to escape the river moments later.

The other clip that she shared with her followers on the platform showed water gushing through the hillside. That footage showed waterfalls having formed on the landscape.

The recent post also included a selfie of Amanda, who rose to fame on the documentary series Our Yorkshire Farm. She was seen wearing a hooded coat and a pair of gloves.

She wrote in the accompanying tweet: "Yesterday was horrendous. Sleet & snow thawing made for serious flooding & dangerous situations whilst trying to fodder the sheep."

Amanda added: They stayed on low lying ground as gale force winds blew on tops but this was scary. You do your best but we were lucky that there were no casualties."

Amanda - who's known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess - has since announced to her followers on the platform that there's subsequently been more snow on the farm.

And she posted an update about her flock, writing on Monday afternoon: "[They] are all fine and dandy today and far happier with a sprinkling of snow than yesterdays deluge."

The hill farmer teased that some of the sheep may even be cleaner following the experience, saying: "One or two are possibly rather cleaner after their unscheduled soaking."
