England's newest superstar Harry Brook has enjoyed a dream start to his international career, winning the T20 World Cup and smashing four centuries in his first six Test matches.

Brook has taken international cricket by storm and has earned comparisons to England legend Kevin Pietersen. And the 24-year-old believes that while his approach to batting is similar to Pietersen's, there are some differences between their respective techniques.

"I used to love watching him bat when I was younger," Brook said of Pietersen. "Obviously he played such an entertaining brand of cricket: he always looked to take the attack to the bowlers and put them under pressure.

"In that aspect, I'm quite similar, but technically he's very different. He was very wide-stanced. I'm fairly wide, but he's a lot taller than me. He has a longer reach, so can hit it a lot further."

Pietersen himself is a huge fan of Brook, having been impressed by the 24-year-old's performances for Northern Superchargers in the inaugural edition of The Hundred while he was working as a commentator.

"I was talking about Harry Brook during The Hundred last year and I said that this guy can be very good for England in all formats," Pietersen told Betway last year.

"He is the future, in my opinion. He's got all the shots and can play in so many different circumstances."

And Brook is set for another big year with England set for a home Ashes series against rivals Australia in the summer, before jetting off to India in October to defend the 50-over World Cup they won in dramatic fashion in 2019.

"It's going to be a great summer of cricket," Brook added. "If selected, it's going to be so good, I'm really looking forward to it."
