MLB icon Jose Canseco’s supermodel daughter, Josie, has claimed that her family are broke in an X-rated despite her father earning north of $40million (£32.5m) during his playing star-studded career.
Canseco, 58, spent 17 years in MLB, turning out for eight franchises, including the world renown New York Yankees. He was a six-time All-Star, two-time World Series champion, one-time MLB MVP and Rookie of the Year in 1986.
However, Canseco squandered his millions and filed for bankruptcy back in 2012, and Victoria Secret supermodel daughter Josie, 26, has hit out at her critics on Instagram for claiming she came from “rich money”.
Josie fumed on Monday afternoon: “Everyone claiming I came from all this rich money because I’m a ‘Canseco’, do your research. My ‘family money’ was blown by the time I was 6/7 with bankruptcy and I had to work my a** off to not only sustain my ‘family name’ but also pay my bills cause n-one paid that s*** except me.
“No child support, no payments, nothing. And I lived in the model apartments, I was in debt for years and busted my a** getting $100-a-week max, when I started my mom who did her best.

“I’m tired of being categorised when it was very different. I’m beyond grateful because I certainly have been graced with the privilege of being born within a family that earned what they earned but respectfully, the expectation isn’t all what it seems.

And realistically, sometimes it’s money that gets you in the door. Coming from someone who was in debt for at least 2/3 years, living in model apartments (3 models per room in a two bedroom New York apartment) I just would appreciate a bit of kindness because I really went through that s*** and busted my a** the traditional way. Sorry for the rant, I just got triggered tonight.”
Following the Instagram vent, Josie says she had a panic attack and flew to be with her dad. In a video alongside Jose, she added: "Clearly had a panic attacking tonight and was able to fly to see my dad. I'm so grateful I even have one. I don't care about the details, I'm appreciative to have someone there for me when I need it. I love you dad."
Josie has amassed over a million followers on Instagram and posts a number of modelling pictures, as well as snaps alongside family members, such as dad Jose.
