PRESENTER Claudia Winkleman is set to be queen of the Bafta TV awards after her two biggest shows earned a trio of nominations.

Strictly Come Dancing, which she co-hosts with Tess Daly, is up for best Entertainment Programme.

And Claudia, 51, has been nominated for best Entertainment Performance in her other big BBC One gig, The Traitors.

The smash hit deception and betrayal-based game show is itself up in the reality and constructed factual category.

BBC dramas The Responder and This Is Going to Hurt lead this year’s nominations.

But streaming services took another big bite out of the Beeb’s traditional dominance.

More than a quarter of the nominees announced yesterday were for shows seen on Sky, Netflix, Apple TV+, Disney+ and other providers.

A TV insider said: “The number of nominations for non-linear channels continues to rise, reflecting the fact their shows are gaining critical acclaim as well as popularity.

“Every year they continue to nibble away at the dominance of the likes of the BBC.”

Of the 12 women in the leading and supporting actress categories, just two were from BBC shows — Lesley Manville in Sherwood and Adelayo Adedayo in The Responder.

Others up for best actress include Sarah Lancashire in Sky Atlantic’s Julia and Imelda Staunton as the Queen in The Crown on Netflix.

Half the male nods are for BBC stars including Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders, Martin Freeman in The Responder and Ben Whishaw in This Is Going to Hurt.

Claudia was the only BBC star up for the Entertainment Performance gong with Dave, ITV1, Channel 4 and Netflix taking the other five spots.

Around a quarter of BBC nominations were for news, sport, live events and current affairs — including Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams.
