EAGLE-EYED boxing fans noticed the singer at Lawrence Okolie's fight seemingly reading the lyrics to the national anthem from her HAND.

Okolie's third defence of the WBO cruiserweight title against New Zealand's David Light was preceded by the traditional renditions of the fighters' respective national anthems.

As the singer belted out the Kiwi national anthem she took a look at her hand - and that led many fans to think she had the words written there in case she forgot them.

Her apparent hack didn't go unnoticed by boxing fans, one of whom asked on Twitter: "Was this singer reading the national anthem off her hand lol."

Another said: "This singer checking the lyrics to the national anthem on her hand or am I seeing things?"

And another said: "Gotta respect the singer at the #OkolieLight fight tonight pulling a Marlon Brando and writing the New Zealand national anthem onto her hand."

One remarked: "Did the girl singing the New Zealand national anthem for the Okolie fight have the lyrics written on her hand?"

Another chimed in: "That awkward moment on live TV when you forget the first line of your national anthem and have to read it off your hand."

One fan even drew comparisons to Ellynora's butchering of God Save the King before England's Euro 2024 qualifier with Italy on Thursday.

They tweeted: "That Italian lass didn’t have too long to wait to pass on the worst rendition of the national anthem!"

Okolie retained his WBO strap with a scrappy points win over a dogged Light at the Manchester Arena.

And he's hoping for a big summer showdown against one of the three fighters on his hit-list.

He said: “Maybe Richard Riakporhe, Jai Opetaia and Chris Billam-Smith will watch that and fancy their chances now, because I have signed off on all three of them,” he said.

“These are fights I have agreed to so it’s just them who need convincing.

“My name is signed. I am not here to play games.

“I know what I have to work on, I have just ended 13 months out of the ring and I didn’t even believe in ring rust so my mind has been thoroughly changed.

“The most important thing is I got the win and now people want to see what’s next.”
