PEOPLE from Wigan are the least trusting neighbours in the country, new polling reveals.
Other suspicious Brits live in Stoke-on-Trent and Salford, while Eccleshall in Sheffield is the most trusting part of the UK alongside Henleaze in Bristol.
A new poll reveals people in Wigan are the least trusting neighboursCredit: GettyTory think tank Onward polled more than 42,000 people, asking: “Generally speaking, would you say that people can be trusted or that you can’t be too careful in dealing with people?”.
Two thirds of people from Laithwaite and Marsh Green in Wigan said you can’t be too careful.
Only 27.98 per cent of people there said you can always or usually trust others, compared to 66.34 per cent saying you always or usually can’t be.
From tongue scraping to saying no, here are 12 health trends to try in 2023Other low trusting neighbourhoods were Bentilee and Ubberley in Stoke-on-Trent (-37.97 per cent), Grangetown in Redcar & Cleveland (-35.35 per cent) and Pendleton in Salford (-34.84 per cent).
Eccleshall in Sheffield has the highest levels of trust with 62.11 per cent of residents always or usually trusting others and 32.71 per cent saying you always or usually can’t be too careful - a net trust score of +29.39 per cent.
Runners up were Henleaze in Bristol (+29.27 per cent), Heswall in the Wirral (+28.51 per cent) and Appleton in Warrington (+28.05 per cent).
