Paul Mullin made sure to remind his Wrexham teammates that the National League title isn’t theirs yet following Monday’s win over rivals Notts County, using colourful language in a passionate outburst.

Mullin scored Wrexham’s equaliser in the 3-2 win, taking his tally to 43 across all competitions this season, such form could land him a senior international call-up for Wales. But the game wasn’t without drama, as the win had to be secured in stoppage time with a Ben Foster penalty save, denying Notts County a late point that would’ve kept them top of the league.

Instead, Wrexham moved onto 103 points, three clear of Notts County, with a game in hand over their rivals and four fixtures left to play this term. The Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned club are on the cusp of reaching League Two.

After the game, Wrexham heroes Foster and Mullin were interviewed. Cameras for Foster's YouTube channel filmed the keeper and Mullin as they stood waiting. “What a crowd! Every week it's like this,” Foster said. To which Mullin responded: “It's not f****** done yet, though."

The colourful language was not televised, of course, but Mullin drew praise for his passionate outburst. The striker is right, the job is not done yet.

Notts County can still claim the title and the only automatic promotion spot that comes with it, but they’ll need a slip up or two from Wrexham. Two losses from four for the Welsh side could allow Notts County to reclaim the lead in the National League on goal difference.

Mullin’s superstar status has even left Hollywood A-lister owner Reynolds in awe. The Deadpool lead actor asked for Mullin’s shirt following the 3-2 win over County. Reynolds could be seen asking Mullin for his shirt, which led to the striker responding: “I can't say no, can I? You provide them."

Wrexham travel to Barnet, followed by back-to-back home games against Yeovil and Boreham Wood. Barnet and Boreham Wood could prove to be difficult opponents, with both teams sitting inside the top six and on course to reach the play-offs.

Yeovil, meanwhile, are sat third from bottom on 39 points from 42 games.
