SAY howdie to the king of howlers – now eyeing a second stint as US President.

At 80, gaffe machine “Sleepy Joe” Biden is America’s oldest ever leader, and after another White House stint he would be 86.

Joe said this week: “It’s legitimate to raise issues about my age. The only thing I can say is, watch me.”

But after he called our PM “Rashi Sanook”, and his own nation “United Steak Of America”, we are all watching.

Sarah Arnold looks at his worst clangers.

Catching Z's

THE big man was caught napping, literally, at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow in November 2021, after twice appearing to nod off.

He had to be prodded by an aide and the video footage caused the moniker Sleepy Joe to go viral on Twitter.

'Rashi Sanook'

NUMBER 10 has been a revolving door since Boris Johnson’s exit last year – with first Liz Truss moving in as the new PM, then Rishi Sunak.

But even that cannot excuse Biden’s bungle last October as he announced: “Just today we’ve got news that Rashi Sanook is now the Prime Minister.”

In January this year, he did little better, saying “Sanuk” instead of Sunak.

So much for the Special Relationship.

'President Harris'

ANYONE would think Joe Biden is ready to hand over to his deputy.

In January, Twitter exploded as he referred to US Vice President Kamala Harris, as “President Harris”.

It was not the first time.

In October, he told her: “Happy birthday to a great president.”

In January 2021, during remarks on voting rights, he referred to “President Harris” – and he did the same later that year in South Carolina.

Cheat sheets

CHEAT sheets seem to be a go-to for the US leader, who has been caught with them on more than one occasion.

At a joint press conference with South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol, to celebrate 70 years of friendship with the US, Biden had clearly been anxious not to be wrong-footed – unwittingly brandishing a slip of paper detailing for him a vetted question from a journalist and their photo.

Then at the G20 summit of world leaders last November in Bali, a close-up snap showed him with a list of instructions that said, “YOU will sit at the center” and, “YOU will deliver opening remarks.”

Woke blunder

HE made a right fool of himself as he tried to champion women in top jobs.

During a White House speech in February, marking the 30th anniversary of the Family and Medical Leave Act, he got all in a muddle as he proclaimed: “More than half the women of my cabinet, more than half the people of my cabinet, more than half the women in my administration are women”.

What a tit

BIDEN boobed again at a campaign speech in Pennsylvania ahead of the 2020 presidential election – when he described the American struggle as: “You’re trying your breast but it never feels like enough.”

'Something on your chin'

KEEPING up appearances can be a battle for Mr B, it seems.

A virtual meeting with US governors last summer was going along swimmingly – until Biden accepted a note from an aide, which was snapped by a photographer.

It read: “Sir, there is something on your chin.”

'Iranian people'

STANDING by Ukraine was a key note in the President’s State of the Union speech to Americans in March last year.

But it was just a shame he muddled up people in the war-torn country with . . . Iranians.

The toe-curling moment went viral, as he goofed: “Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks but he will never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”

Ouch.
