A ROYAL superfan has thanked The Sun for granting his wish to attend the Coronation — and said it was a dream come true.

Terry Hutt, 88, who was dubbed Union Jack Man by the Queen, feared he was too frail to make the 140-mile trip from his home.

But The Sun stepped in and whisked him via train to the capital yesterday.

The ex-soldier, who has been to more than 100 royal events, was decked out in his trademark Union Flag suit.

He was joined on the trip from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, by daughter Tracey Joy, 51, and her partner Warren Parker-Mills, 55.

They got a cab from Paddington to The Mall, where Terry was mobbed as he rode on his mobility scooter.

Lewis Langstaff-Wood, 14, from Durham, posed for a snap with him.

He said: “I am into the Royal Family and I’ve seen Terry all over. He’s a bit of a legend.”

Another passer-by said: “Oh sir, you look amazing. Can we have a photo?”

Asked if he liked the attention, Terry quipped: “If they’re happy to take the photos, I’m happy to be in them.”

Terry, who had cataract surgery on his eye on Tuesday, said: “I didn’t think I was going to make it here.

“I was planning to watch it on TV and then The Sun came to the rescue.

“I’m most excited about being here and among other royal fans.”

He added: “Thanks to The Sun newspaper for getting me up here.”

Terry was certain Charles and Camilla will make a good King and Queen, saying: “They’ve been taught well from the Royal Family.”
