THE Chase fans think they've worked out the hilarious reason for Monday night's scheduling shake-up.

Tonight saw the ITV game show - hosted by Bradley Walsh - moved from its usual slot of 5pm to 6.30pm.

No official reason was given for the change-up but it looks like things will be back to normal for The Chase as of Tuesday 3 January.

Taking to Twitter, some fans speculated over the reason for the move - with some blaming the 5.30pm kick off for Brentford vs Liverpool.

One wrote: "If you're wondering why #TheChase is on at 6:30 this evening, it's because Bradley Walsh is a Brentford fan and he wants to watch the first half of their game against Liverpool."

Bradley, who previously starred in Coronation Street, isn't just a fan of Brentford FC.

In 1979 at just 18 he signed for the team during his short career as a footballer.

Tonight's episode of The Chase is the first new show of the year.

On New Year's Eve a special bloopers show aired - but fans weren't impressed to discover it was a repeat.

Taking to Twitter to moan, one person wrote:  "Why on EARTH is this a repeat and not a NEW blooper show this year? This is so disappointing. Where's the new material? #TheChase.”

A second said: “Switching off, it's a repeat from last year #TheChase.”

While a third admitted: “I'm certain it's a repeat but I'm crying with laughter. #TheChase #TheChaseBloopers.”
