NINA Lucas cheated death in tonight's episode of Coronation Street after desperately searching for her uncle Roy Cropper.
There was shock among the characters during tonight's edition of the ITV soap after Nina, played by Mollie Gallagher, got into difficulty while frantically searching for a missing Roy.
Tensions have been building and brewing for Roy and Nina over the festive period with Roy's refusal to use the smartphone Nina purchased him for a gift.
Nina had insisted that Roy must use the phone so that he is contactable should an emergency occur.
During tonight's episode, Nina's fears came true after Roy was left wandering a lonely woodland area after being unaware the bat group's New Year meeting had been called off.

Unable to contact him by any means, Nina insisted that she, Brian and Asha must head off to the woodland that Roy had already set off to and tell him the news in person.
Upon arrival, Roy was nowhere to be seen causing panic amongst the trio as they sauntered through the trees.
As night began to fall, things took a devastating turn for the worst.
Much to the viewer's terror, Nina spotted Roy's flask, which he had earlier dropped in the lake, floating on the water and fearing that he had drowned, Nina headed down to the water's edge where she took a terrifying tumble.
As she fell, she rolled rapidly down the bank, hitting her head in the process before being left unconscious in the water.
A frightened Asha and Brian looked on as Brian dragged a water-logged Nina onto the bank and began to perform CPR.
Brian had told Asha to 'call an ambulance' as he attempted to bring her back to life.
As it appeared that Brian's efforts could have been for nothing, Nina coughed as she came back around.
With the paramedics arriving, Brian looked over as he said: "Roy's here!"
Roy strolled over to the commotion as he saw Nina being treated for her injuries.

Roy declared: "I heard the ambulance, I came back towards the car park..."
As Nina recuperated in hospital, tensions rose between Asha and Roy before she apologised for 'snapping' at him.
Fans of the show were in disbelief that Nina had come so close to death in the horrifying scenes.
One said: "Bloody hell that river is a potential death trap."
Another wrote: "Oh golly, what nut runs down a slope that fast?"
A third added: "Nina barged her way to the river!"
Nina appeared to be recovering quick as she spent time with Asha in the hospital who revealed the incident had left her wanting to train as a paramedic.
Nina laughed at the fact Asha always managed to take a positive away from a horrific situation.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1.
