Gogglebox icons Dave and Shirley Griffiths looked completely different in an incredible throwback picture.

Fans were impressed when the TV stars took to Twitter to post a photo from their past Benidorm holiday.

"These were great times, #Benidorm holidays," they wrote along with a 'fun in the sun' hashtag.

In the snap, Dave, Shirley and a pal could be seen sitting on a sofa as they all posed for the camera.

Dave held up a beer while Shirley cheekily kicked her left leg in the air while smiling with joy.

Shirley rocked a brunette curly perm and donned a yellow button-up minidress while Dave kept it simple in a chequered button-up top and brown trousers.

Viewers were in awe and rushed to the comment section to compliment the pair on the lovely photo.

"Omg I love it u two honestly are the best love ya both hahahaha," one user said, prompting Dave and Shirley to respond: "Aww thanks so much."

Another posted: "Love this photo! You both look fantastic," while one joked: "Shirley you've just kept your modesty there girl! Beautiful couple."

"Wow what fabulous legs Shirley," one person complimented and another said: "OMG couldn’t recognise you both. I was going to scroll on. Great pic."

The sweet throwback snaps comes after Dave and Shirley missed last week's episode of Channel 4's Gogglebox.

Issuing a statement on Twitter, Dave told fans: "Shirley was a bit under the weather last week, thanks for your concern see you next week xx."

Dave and Shirley Griffiths are a husband and wife duo from Caerphilly in South Wales and have been much-loved cast members of the show.

The couple is well-known for their hilarious commentary on television and the playful way they take the mick out of each other and joined the series in 2015 after being spotted by a casting agent.

Outside of their appearances in the series, Dave also works as a cleaner in a factory and Shirley works in retail.

The pair have two grown-up children, Simon and Gemma, and love spending time with their family in local pubs.
