Starmer slammed for failing to condemn abuse from Labour activists

A CABINET minister has furiously hit out at Sir Keir Starmer for failing to condemn foul-mouthed party activists who abused women’s rights activists and Tories.

Two party members held a picture of a pigeon aloft at the Welsh Labour conference earlier this year with the words: “I only s**t on Tories and terfs.”

Terfs is an offensive term used to describe feminists who speak out against trans rights infringing women’s hard-win freedoms.

Welsh secretary David TC Davies wrote to the Labour leader back in March demanding he condemn the abuse - but has still not received a reply.

He told The Sun on Sunday: “Seeing images of Labour activists boasting obscenities towards those who simply hold a different political view to them is abhorrent.

“Abuse of any kind can never be tolerated, and firm action is swiftly needed to deal with it.

“I would have liked to have thought the Leader of the Opposition, Sir Keir Starmer, would agree with me on this but, after writing to him about this serious incident, there’s been radio silence for two months.

“The Leader of the Opposition needs to display a firm commitment to standing up to abuse of any kind, and a good start would be for him to deal with these activists who have lashed out at many members of society.”

Labour declined to comment.
