A HERO cop was slashed across the face after chasing down a wanted man.
The attack happened in Bulwell, near Nottingham, on Saturday afternoon.
The horrific attack left blood pouring from a cut below the hero cop’s left eye.
Backup officers eventually apprehended the man using a taser.

The policewoman, sat in the passenger seat of an unmarked car, was tended to by medics at the scene for more than 30 mins.
It is unclear if she was later taken to hospital for her injuries.
Onlookers gathered on the usually quiet street as officers taped off the scene of the attacks as the attacker was detained.
A witness said: “She was the first officer on the scene of the disturbance and was chasing the attacker on foot.
“As she tried to tackle him and arrest him he slashed her and tried to escape again.
“A few police officers had to use a taser to detain him because he could have attacked any number of people after that.
“It felt like half of the Nottinghamshire Police force turned up because one of their own had been injured trying to protect the public.”
