She was left with a scar on her forehead and needed stitches following the horror in Newport, Wales.

Price has avoided jail and was instead handed a nine month sentence suspended for 12 months after admitting causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.

In a victim impact statement, Jayde told how she still fears for her welfare following the attack.

She added: "I have been left with a scar to the right side of my forehead which causes me anxiety and is a constant reminder of what happened to me.

“I have heard rumours she was laughing at me.

“I could have been seriously hurt or killed. I am concerned for my safety.”

She told The Sun previously how she had been on a night out in the city when she bumped into her ex-boyfriend at a party.

Jayde said she was hugging him outside when she heard a girl screaming her name in the street.

The victim said: "I had no idea who she was and asked her what she was doing.

“Suddenly, she saw red, grabbed me and whacked me in the head with something shiny.”

Video footage played to the court showed the vicious attack as witnesses yelled out "stop it, stop it".

Jayde was rushed to hospital where she required 14 stitches to stop the blood pouring from her head.

She later discovered Price fancied her ex-boyfriend and flipped when she saw him with Jayde at the party.

The yob, who has a previous conviction for violence, lost her job following the attack.

As well as a suspended sentence, she was also ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the community and complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Sentencing, Recorder Dyfed Llion Thomas, told her: “You nearly went to prison today.”
