Talor Gooch landed his third LIV Golf title of the season, after securing the LIV Andalucia crown at Valderrama to win yet another £3.2 million ($4m) in prize money.

Gooch has been the man to catch on the breakaway circuit in 2023, having led the individual standings following back-to-back wins in Adelaide and Singapore earlier in the campaign. The American star then went on to secure title number three after prevailing around the iconic Valderrama course.

The 31-year-old headed into Sunday's round one shot behind 36-hole leader Bryson DeChambeau, after carding a two-under-par 69 on Friday followed by a six-under 65 on Saturday. He faced a tough task to become champion again though, with former US Open champion DeChambeau leading the way after shooting a scintillating eight-under 63 to leave him at the top heading into the final 18 holes.

And the American did not do too much wrong on Sunday, carding a two-under 69 to finish at 11-under for the tournament.

Gooch however is a man in form, and signed off his tournament with a round of four-under to finish a single shot ahead of his rival thanks to back-to-back birdies at 17 and 18. His impressive form appears to have come at the right time, with the Ryder Cup three months away.

It still remains to be seen as to whether US captain Zach Johnson will include LIV players in his team, but after Brooks Koepka paved the way for his fellow rebels with a win at the PGA Championship, a win that means he is almost certain to make the United States team.

Gooch could well be playing his way into contention. Alongside his trophy, and a Ryder Cup link, the 31-year-old also secured the top big-money prize for the third time this season.
