The beach at London's Royal Docks in Royal Victoria is gearing up for another year of fun with a whole host of activities.

Since it first launched in 2018, the Royal Docks Summer Splash has been a hit with both locals and holidaymakers.

This summer visitors will be able to build sandcastles in the sandpit and head to the docks for a spot of swimming too.

A large lido will also be built at Royal Victoria Dock where there will be a shallow end for younger children.

Children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult in the lido, and one adult must only be supervising one child at a time.

The Summer Splash will be open from July 31 until August 20, and is free to all visitors.

The Royal Docks can be reached from other areas of London by the tube.

Visitors can either take a DLR tube to Royal Victoria or an Elizabeth Line service to Custom House where they'll need to walk for 10 minutes to reach the docks.

In recent years, holidaymakers have been raving about the central London beach on TikTok.

TikTok user Dee Browniee wrote: "A great place to chill locally this summer with families during the summer - especially if you live in east London."

In her footage, from last year, people can be seen swimming and sunbathing at the makeshift beach.

Other users have also posted videos showing children jumping in the water and swimming in the lido.

There are also other events taking place throughout the summer including the Ensemble Festival.

This free festival features a mix of theatre, circus, dance and music performances.

The area will also play host to the London Triathlon on August 6 as well as other swimming events throughout the summer.

And this isn't the only beach in the English capital either, Ruislip Lido Beach, found in Hillingdon, in West London has stretches of sand and palm trees.

The beach can be reached on a Metropolitan Line tube from London from to Ruislip before hopping on a bus to Ruislip Lido.

While swimming is not permitted at present, daytrippers can still sunbathe on the sandy shores.

The UK has some other amazing beaches to add to your bucket list too.

Blackpool Sands in Devon was listed as the best in the UK by Conde Nast Traveller and even has its own music festival in the summer.
