A MAN has vowed never to eat KFC again after finding a stomach-churning surprise in his Zinger Tower Meal.

Josh Hanbury claims he found an "alive and moving" cockroach crawling among his popcorn chicken - after he had eaten most of it.

The disgusted diner explained he shelled out £15 for the snack that left him sickened at his local KFC branch in Newport, Wales.

But he has now lost his appetite for the Colonel's fried chicken after his fast-food fiasco last Thursday afternoon.

Josh was infuriated further after complaining - as he claimed he was only offered more food rather than a refund.

He had purchased a Zinger Tower Meal, which includes a chicken burger, mini chicken burger, chips, popcorn chicken and a drink.

Josh devoured his chips in the car park before moving on to the popcorn chicken, only to find an unwanted addition lurking in the box.

The furious customer told Wales Online: "I put the last three pieces into my mouth and saw something moving in the bottom of the box.

"Then I realised it was a cockroach.

"I instantly felt sick, so I didn’t want to finish the meal even though I paid £15 for it."

Josh claims the creature was still wriggling around in the box, so he marched back into the KFC branch and demanded to speak to a manager.

He continued: "The manager was immediately apologetic but didn’t offer me a refund.

"I was quite frustrated with the fact he didn’t offer me that. Instead, he gave me more food which I didn’t eat."

Although Josh had visited the same branch recently without any issues, he says the experience has put him off KFC for good.

The stunned Welshman added: "I hardly ever go to any KFC. That’s the first time it’s ever happened to me.

"I’m never eating from there again."

A KFC spokesperson told the publication they were "surprised" to see the insect had survived the cooking process while apologising to Josh.

They said in a statement: "We must admit we were surprised by this image…

"Our chicken is freshly prepared, cooked at 365 degrees and served soon after so it'd be quite something to survive that.

"We have very strict hygiene and quality processes at our restaurants and the Newport restaurant has a 5 star EHO rating, but we’d love Josh to get in touch to fully understand how this happened so we can investigate and help make it right."

The Sun Online has also contacted KFC for comment.

We previously told how a woman was let revolted after claiming to find a "chicken brain" in her KFC bucket meal.

And a horrified couple alleged they discovered a fried chicken "testicle" in their meal.
