CHANNEL 4 has axed a dating show with a seriously brutal twist amid a string of cost-saving cuts.

Let's Make a Love Scene was a unique take on the dating show format, and saw singletons recreate sex scenes from iconic movies in a bid to see if love will blossom for real.

The show was hosted by comedian Ellie Taylor, but only two episodes made it to air.

TV Zone now reports the series has been shelved and will not return to screens at all.

A Channel 4 spokesperson told The Sun Online: "Every year, Channel 4, like all broadcasters, makes decisions about which shows to rest, return or conclude to ensure we always innovate and offer viewers the best range of programming.

"The decision not to recommission Let’s Make A Love Scene which aired in 2022 was not financial.”

The participants of the show tried to recreate the sexual chemistry of iconic film sex scenes, such as Ghost, The Notebook and Fifty Shades of Grey.

They were coached by intimacy co-ordinator Rufai 'Roo' Ajala and acting coach Emma Crompton.

One guy or one girl performed three steamy scenes with three different strangers, before the singleton chose one of their co-stars to go on a date with.

In one of the episodes that did air, beauty therapist Starr recreated scenes inspired by Fifty Shades of Grey, Ghost and The Notebook.

She filmed one with cage fighter Alex, another with chef Ashley, and the third with finance worker Nick.

Starr then watched her scenes on the big screen before choosing which man she wanted to go on a date with.

The show's axing comes after a string of programme culling as Channel 4 tries to balance the books and cut costs.
