Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Craig Doyle on Tuesday's This Morning, she said: "I gradually got worse and in 2022 I knew that was my last year because of the symptoms I had with the IPF.
"I could hardly breathe, walking was difficult, I was on oxygen more or less 24 hours [a day]."

"It hasn’t been simple, it hasn’t been easy - there’s a lot that’s gone wrong with me, which the transplant people anticipate, because it’s quite hard having a new organ in your body.
"It’s the rejection drugs you have to take. You’re monitored every week. I was grateful for it but I’m still not out of the woods, there’s a lot still I’m going to improve on."
During the interview Amy - who has written a book about her famous daughter - also addressed 45-year-old Katie's recent "biggest ever boob job".
She said: “Her boobs are ridiculous if you ask me,” while opening up on book The Last Word, which has been serialised in The Sun.
Amy added that Katie now hides her operations from her in a bid to stop her from cancelling them.
She explained: “I don’t want her to have any surgery at all and I cancelled a few operations so she couldn’t get her boobs done, but then she learnt not to tell me.
“I can almost tell you now when she’s going to have something done. It’s body dysmorphia, and the tattoos are all a part of it too.”
