SHOPPERS often rush to B&M to nab a bargain - but one deals expert has revealed how to get items for as little as 10p.

Tom Church, co-founder of latestdeals.co.uk, revealed how you can pick up products for pennies by shopping on a Wednesday morning.

He explained: "A B&M store manager told me that they tend to do price drops between Monday and Thursday.

"The main one though, is on Wednesday, and these often include their 10p bargains.

"They get the list of items to reduce on a Tuesday night, everything’s authorised on Wednesday, and new prices are ready to go by around 10am."

He added: "If you can’t get there on a Wednesday, it’s always best going in the morning on any day of the week.

"That way you can get in early and bag bargains before the shop has had a lot of traffic."

How else can I save money at B&M?

It's not just about choosing the best times to shop at B&M - you can nab 10p bargains by using the retailer's scanner app too.

It is free to use and can be downloaded on to any smartphone.

Once downloaded, you just have to open it up, scan product barcodes in-store and it tells you their true price.

Tom explained: "Often, B&M updates prices in their system but not on the shop floor.

"This means that items can be cheaper than their list price.

"If you scan the barcode of an item in the app, you’ll be shown the correct price.

"I often go round the shop and scan as many items as I can, hoping for a bargain!"

And Tom added it's another great way to get products for just pennies.

"You’ll really hit the jackpot if you scan an item and get an error message.

"This usually means the item has been reduced to clear and could end up costing as little as 10p."

The process of finding 10p items can be quite laborious though as it means you have to scan every product until you find a reduced one.

You can save yourself some time and effort though by signing up to Facebook groups such as B&M Scanner and Other Bargains.

Customers often share what bargain finds they've found using the scanner app on the group.

Customers also share their tip offs on websites like latestdeals.co.uk as well.

Meanwhile, you'll want to keep your eyes peeled for yellow stickers on products - they are put on items to show they've been reduced.

Tom explained: "B&M has a reputation for being great value, so if you can get reduced items, it’s even better.

"I recently found a Rimini Chiminea reduced from £50 to £30. I find most yellow stickers, like this one, give up to 40% off."

Be on the look out for red stickers as well though - these are put on special buy products that have also been reduced.

Tom explained: "Sometimes they’ll be in a dedicated ‘sale’ section, or they may be found throughout the store.

"I found a pink velvet cushion reduced to £7 in the sale section."

How does the B&M scanner app work?

Shoppers can download the B&M scanner app from the App Store or Google Play.

Once you've got the app, click on the "scan" button at the bottom of your homepage.

This will bring up the camera on your smartphone which you use to scan barcodes.

When you've found a product you want to scan, point your smartphone camera towards the barcode.

The app will then automatically bring up the item's price - this is when you'll know if it has been reduced or not.

Remember, not all items will scan at a lower price so it can be pot luck what you get reduced.

One useful thing to note is that it's usually the seasonal or old stock items that are dropped in price.

So, you might see Christmas products reduced on the app after December 25, or chocolate eggs down for pennies after Easter.

Bear in mind that reductions do sometimes vary between stores.
