A CLEANING whizz has shared a cheap and easy way to remove those grim coffee and tea stains from your favourite mugs.

You don't need to buy any fancy cleaning products to get rid of the brown marks either - in fact, you've probably already got everything you need in your cupboards.

The trick was shared by cleaning extraordinaire Mary Futher, who is better known as Madame Sweat on social media.

She said: "I don't know about you, but I won't drink out of a mug that has coffee or tea stains in it."

All you need to do is soak the inside of any stained mugs with some good old fashioned baking soda.

Leave it to sit for a few hours before pouring it out and rinsing with water.

Then you can wash your mug as usual, either by hand or in the dishwasher.

The stains should be totally gone, leaving your mugs looking brand new.

Other cleaning fans loved the hack, and one even suggested using denture cleaning tablets to remove the marks instead.

But Mary said baking soda works out to be cheaper and is "more convenient" for most people.

The hack should work on other stained ceramics too, the cleaning whizz added.

"Your videos are a life saver," one person commented on the Instagram post.

And a second agreed: "I needed this, gonna try it out."

"I use bleach and water overnight, will try this," someone else quipped.

"The best way to get rid of stains is to wash them as soon as you're done," another wrote.
