A BRAND new beach and water play area will be opening in one of the UK's most underrated cities.
While the UK has some amazing places, my hometown of Birmingham can often be overlooked by holidaymakers during the summer months.

But a new sandy spot will be opening in the heart of the city from next week - giving holidaymakers everything they need for a summer visit.
Digbeth Funfair and Beach is gearing up for another year of fun with a whole host of activities.
Ex-Premier League star, 39, declared bankrupt after racking up £1m debtsSince it first launched, the funfair has been a hit with both locals and holidaymakers.
And according to Birmingham Mail, this year's fair will be the "biggest ever" with rides, rollercoasters, and even a bar.
The beach-themed attraction is being run by Danter Attractions, a funfair supplier, who've been keeping visitors updated via their Facebook page, Birmingham Beach.
In a post on Facebook, they wrote: "Rides are arriving daily, but most importantly over 500 tonnes of sand has arrived to build Birmingham’s biggest ever beach."
Other attractions include water features and slides with more to be revealed soon.
Visitors will be welcomed onto the site from July 14 at Smithfield in Birmingham city centre.
The funfair is a stone's throw from the Bullring, Birmingham's famous shopping centre, and within walking distance of Birmingham Grand Central and the Rag Market.
Digbeth Funfair and Beach can be easily reached from both Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Moor Street station.
It's also within walking distance from Birmingham Coach Station as well as other local bus services.
Gangsters who killed two teens in notorious shooting still at large 20 years onPrices and opening times have yet to be announced.
In previous years, holidaymakers have raved about the funfair in videos on TikTok.
TikTok user Hey Brum said: "It's got a great amount of rides and even has a rollercoaster. It's a cool one to check out."
Brum Updates, another Birmingham-based TikToker, also posted a video about the funfair.
In the footage, which is from last year, they showed users all the rides and attractions they could expect to find at the fair.
While some locals didn't even know the funfair existed, others were itching to go.
One person wrote: "I've been there it's so fun."
While another added: "[It's] so good here."
This isn't the only new attraction coming to Birmingham, as a popular pub where music legends used to perform is set to reopen.
After being closed for nine years, The Crown in Birmingham will soon be welcoming punters back through its doors.
Set on the corner of Station Street and Hill Street, the city centre pub was a launch pad for world-famous musicians including Black Sabbath, UB40, and Led Zeppelin.
The pub closed its doors in the middle of 2014 after the site was sold to developers, but plans to transform the derelict pub into a live music venue are well underway.
Here's why holidaymakers should start visiting Birmingham on future trips to the UK.
