Househunters are left baffled after discovering a seemingly ordinary terrace up for sale is actually hiding a former cannabis farm - equipped with a giant 'grow room'.

The property in Liverpool, Merseyside, is listed for sale on Rightmove by estate agents McHugh & Co at the shockingly low guide price of £25,000.

It became available on June 16, with an auction taking place on July 6.

Images show the two-bedroom terrace to have a double bay window on the front, with a small kitchen that needs renovating.

However, there is more than meets the eye as a number of images show what appears to be a former cannabis farm hiding within its four walls.

The former tenants seem to have transformed the home from a liveable space into a drug-making cave, with most rooms shown on the listing buried in equipment to stimulate plant growth.

Shocking photographs show the interior walls covered in reflective silver material, accompanied by what appears to be large carbon filters on the ceiling.

Meanwhile, the carpets are littered with an array of discarded plant pots and green bags of waste are piled up in the bathroom.

Merseyside Police confirmed that a cannabis farm was found and seized from the property on November 24 last year, although no arrests were made.

The property listing describes the two-bedroom home as 'requiring modernisation'.

Meanwhile, baffled viewers took to social media to poke fun at the property, describing the extraordinary house as 'ideal for a stoner'.

Some took a guess at what happened to the property's previous owner, others were amazed by the home's affordable price and plenty were simply in shock.

One user said: "That's a damn big grow room! That stuff isn't cheap, either.

"Presuming they got raided and it's all just been left there."

A second said: "Is it so cheap because it's an ex-grow house?"

A third simply said: "Holy sh*t."

Others joked about being on the hunt for potential freebies. "That's kind of them to leave all that stuff, saves you a lot of time and effort when starting up," one mocked.

A second said: "That's a £500/£600 carbon filter on the ceiling. Wonder what other goodies are hiding in there?"

A fourth said: "What's in the green bags and are these included in the property?"

A fifth jokingly replied: "25k is a steal if so."

McHugh & Co. have been contacted for a comment.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "A cannabis farm was found and seized from this property on 24th November last year, but no arrests were made."
