S CLUB 7 star Jo O'Meara opened up about the rumours the band could be reforming as she appeared on Loose Women today.

The 43-year-old singer was on the ITV talk show to discuss the chronic back pain that has required her to have extensive surgery, from which she's still recovering.

But stars Ruth Langsford, Linda Robson, Frankie Bridge and Janet Street-Porter couldn't resist getting a question in about claims S Club could be bringing it all back for a full reunion.

"Everyone is asking this question," she laughed. Do you know what? I would absolutely love to. I would love to… You know we are all talking, we all do still speak."

However, she played coy when it came to the idea of the band actually reuniting, saying the "rumour mill goes into overdrive".

"In reality, getting the seven of us together at the same time... you know, some are married, we've all got children of different ages, it's quite tough to get us all together at the same time," she said, before teasingly adding: "But you never know!"

The group – made up of Rachel Stevens, Jo O' Meara, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Paul Cattermole, and Hannah Spearritt – split 20 years ago this year.

While some have gone on to perform around the UK in nightclubs, the full seven have never fully reunited.

But according to MailOnline at the beginning of January, Simon Fuller - who put them together in 1998 - was on a mission to get the band back together.

The publication suggested he called the stars individually and "made it clear it would only work if all of them were to agree."

A source said: "Simon Fuller saw the value in this, S Club 7 had a huge following of all ages who he thinks will want to go and see them for nostalgia reasons.

"Their songs were so upbeat and fun, it is a massive commercial opportunity for them all, particularly Simon."

A reunion announcement is set to be made public soon with a tour is scheduled for summer.

However, it would be difficult for Jo to keep up with the band's high energy dance routines after getting surgery for sciatica and several slipped discs.

Jo has been left with permanent damage to her right leg and faces months of physio before she will be able to return to the stage.

Six weeks ago, she went into surgery for the chronic pain, which she compared to "feeling like she was shot".

Speaking on Loose Women today, she said: "I mean there were some days where you just don't really see the light at the end of the tunnel.

"And you know what, since I've been going through all of this, I've had so many messages from so many people that are going through exactly the same thing. It's unbelievable. So you know, it feels like it's quite a common thing."

"When they done the surgery they did they found a blood clot in there as well," she added. "So I've been so, so lucky."
