The transfer window has only been open a matter of weeks but Arsenal are already in the midst of a huge spending spree.

The Gunners confirmed the £65m arrival of German forward Kai Havertz from Chelsea on Wednesday, whilst Declan Rice could soon be set to follow him across London. A deal has been agreed with West Ham that will see Arsenal break the transfer record for an English player.

The spending does not look likely to be ending there as Arsenal chase a whole host of other additions. Take a look at all of the rumours coming out of the Emirates Stadium over the past 24 hours:

Arsenal close in on Timber

Arsenal appear close to making Ajax star Jurrien Timber their second signing of the summer transfer window after Havertz. According to CBS, figures at the Emirates Stadium believe a move for the Dutchman is getting ‘really close’.

It is reported that talks between Arsenal and Ajax are going to ramp up over the coming days, with a deal just over £40m thought to be enough to sign him. The Gunners are set to beat a host of Premier League rivals to Timber’s signature.

Manchester United had been strongly linked in the past, with ex-Ajax boss Erik ten Hag keen to be reunited with his former player, whilst Liverpool were also credited with an interest.

Nwaneri set for Emirates stay

Whilst Timber is set to move to North London, one man who will be extending his stay with the Gunners is young star Ethan Nwaneri. As per The Athletic, the 16-year-old is set to sign a new deal with Arsenal.

It is reported that he will initially pen scholarship terms with the club before committing to a professional deal once he turns 17 in March next year. A number of Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Chelsea were linked with a swoop for his services.

However, Nwaneri - the youngest player in Premier League history - only wanted to stay with Arsenal. His schoolboy registration was previously set to expire at the end of June.

Balogun could link up with Sanchez

French giants Marseille are among a clutch of clubs attempting to sign Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.

The Arsenal striker enjoyed a standout campaign in Ligue 1 last season with Reims. His future looks to be away from the Emirates Stadium and according to L'Equipe, Marseille are keen on him.

They plan on partnering him with former Gunner Alexis Sanchez in their attack next term. The Chilean forward scored 18 goals for the French club in all competitions last term following his arrival on a free transfer from Italian giants Inter Milan.
