A woman has slammed an airline for its "uncomfortable" seating arrangement that forces passengers to stare into each other's eyes throughout the flight. Megan Homme, from Chicago, US, came across the unexpected set up when travelling on a regional airline in Sweden.
While sitting directly opposite a stranger is common on trains, it is unusual to see on planes, especially when travelling on a long-haul flight. Megan said: "I've never seen this on a flight before. Seats facing each other."
She says she wasn't able to pre-select her seat before boarding - and explained how her knees were just an inch away from another pair of flyers who were sitting opposite her. After criticising the airline for its bizarre design, others quickly agreed with Megan, saying they'd rather walk than take up one of those seats.
One user said: "I'd rather sit down with the luggage," while another user added: "That would be so awkward, especially on longer flights. Where do you look?" In agreement, a third user said: "I'm walking out and I expect a full refund," and another added: "I'll just sit on the wing and hold on."
Absolutely disgusted by the design, a final user said: "I'll just have to walk. Don't care how long it takes." It comes after a plane passenger was called out for resting her bare feet on the back of a man's armrest, preventing him from using it for much of the journey.

One user said: "Nah, nope, no, confront her and tell her about fungal infections, and how you don’t want one." Another user added: "My best way to deal with this if this ever happens to me in the future is to 'sneeze' and jerk so hard that I elbow them right in the toes."
A third user said: "Put your armrest up every time she puts her foot there." One more user added: "I would take the most passive aggressive attempt and lean on my elbow, with her foot conveniently under it, as I adjust sitting position."
