Ange Postecoglou has reaffirmed Tottenham's position in the Harry Kane transfer saga - despite Bayern Munich giving Spurs a strict deadline of last Friday.
The 30-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from north London after scoring 30 Premier League goals last season. Bayern have made the England international their first-choice striker target this summer, but are facing a battle to sign him after already seeing two bids rejected.
Tottenham value Kane at £100million, despite having one year left on his current deal. Kane has not shown any intention of renewing his contract at Spurs, although Daniel Levy is desperate to keep hold of his star man. However, Bayern are growing impatient with the lack of progress they are making.
With that in mind, the German giants set a deadline for Spurs to accept their latest offer last Friday (4 August) at midnight, or the transfer was off. In typical fashion, Levy is not making things easy and did not respond to the proposal. Bayern have since threatened to walk away from the deal and seek alternative options.
In the meantime, Tottenham thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1 in their final pre-season friendly on Sunday, with Kane scoring four times for Postecoglou's men. Speaking after the game, the Aussie spoke about Kane's future and admitted there is only one deadline - and that is September 1.

Postecoglou said: "You saw today that Harry Kane certainly is invested in what we're doing - and we will keep on doing that unless something changes. We know there's one deadline: that's the end of the transfer window."
While there is still some uncertainty surrounding the potential transfer, Kane is hoping his future is sorted before Tottenham's Premier League opener against Brentford next Sunday. Even if Kane does stay at Spurs beyond the end of the transfer window, he will be free to to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas team from January.

But if Kane does decide he would like to remain in England, but with a team other than Spurs, he would have to wait until the summer. Manchester United were said to be interested in Kane, before they decided to bring Rasmus Hojlund to the club.
Kane's new Tottenham teammate James Maddison was asked about the situation last week at the TNT Sports start of season event in London. He said: "It hasn't been a distraction, Harry is super professional. I won't go into details because I don't know anything and let's be respectful about Harry's situation.
"Everyone knows what Harry Kane is like, he's a super professional guy and whatever club he is at, whenever he goes into training he gives 100 per cent and it's the same as all the lads so not at all really."
"We were friends before I joined Tottenham from the England squad, we have similar interests and get on well anyway away from football," Maddison added. "I would love Harry Kane to stay, he's the best No9 in the world in my opinion. But what will be will be and Harry is super professional."
