MARK CAVENDISH showed off a gruesome scar from surgery after his devastating crash at the Tour de France.
The history-chasing Brit was forced to withdraw from this year's race with a broken collarbone after suffering a fall on stage eight.

In the snap, a gruesome scar can be seen across Cavendish's shoulder, with the post captioned with a tensing robot arm emoji.
His tour came to an end earlier this month following the crash 60km from the finish of the stage from Libourne to Limoges.

Cavendish had announced in May that he would retire at the end of this season.
However, his team, Astana Qazaqstan, have backed him to return in 2024 to chase the outright record.
The 38-year-old also suffered a horror fall at the Giro d'Italia earlier this year.

He crashed on stage five but was able to continue the race and went on to win the final stage in Rome back in May.
In his absence from the Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard is on the brink of retaining the yellow jersey.
The Danish rider leads Tadej Pogacar by more than seven minutes following Wednesday's 17th stage, with the race ending on Sunday in Paris.
